Verify the distribution package
Ask the developer or build service what the IPA was exported for. Device debugging, Ad Hoc and App Store distribution are different purposes. Renaming a ZIP or test package does not change its signing or eligibility. Confirm the signing team, distribution method, Bundle ID, version and build number with the build owner.
Check team access
Select the correct team in App Store Connect and verify that the target app is visible. Apple lists Account Holder, Admin, App Manager and Developer as upload roles. Signing in alone does not establish access to an app. Ask the administrator to check the role, app access and any agreement notices.
Create the app record first
Before the first upload, create an App Store Connect record with the correct platform and matching Bundle ID. Record identifiers such as version 1.2.0 and build 18. The display name, SKU and Bundle ID serve different purposes. A new record is not a workaround for a signing mismatch.
Use an upload handover checklist
Provide the IPA, team, platform, Bundle ID, version, build number and release notes to the upload operator. Transfer required credentials securely; never attach private keys to public screenshots or tickets. After uploading, record the time and check Apple processing. A successful Windows upload does not complete testing or App Review.
