01

Separate three dates

Apple announced the change on November 2, 2026. The new descriptors arrive in App Store Connect on November 16. Declarations are required when submitting an app update or changing the age-rating questionnaire, and all apps must complete them by January 12, 2027. Announcement, availability and deadline are different dates; the fields are not necessarily available today.

02

Inventory actual features

The additions are Shared Location and Dating and Relationships. These concern real-world location shared with people or groups, and dating or relationship connections between people or virtual companions interacting with users in sexual or romantic content. Ask a product owner to inventory features against Apple’s exact questionnaire. Do not infer an answer solely from the app’s category.

03

Add questionnaire review to release preparation

Assign an owner and record relevant feature entry points, existing answers and a completion date before the next update. Check the new fields after November 16 and have product and release owners verify consistency before saving. Apple also discusses regional rating effects; consult the complete announcement and console guidance rather than predicting a rating from marketing descriptions.

Do you need another IPA upload?

This notice concerns age-rating declarations. It does not justify repeatedly uploading a package or switching upload tools by itself. Separate binary delivery from store information: EasyIPA handles an existing IPA upload, while the questionnaire is completed in App Store Connect. This article was checked on November 5, 2026; revisit the original notice for later changes to timing or requirements.
